About Me

South Africa
My husband, Brett and I live in beautiful South Africa and have been blessed with the most precious family. We have 2 very beautiful and brave daughters, Tianna and Angelee and a very precious little boy called Zac who touched our hearts forever in his 1 day here on earth. We never would have imagined that we would have to live this side of Heaven without our sweet boy who was born with half a heart, but every day Jesus carries us through and is teaching us more than ever how to live, laugh and love fully. A year and a half later, our faithful Great Restorer graciously blessed us once again with another son ... our beloved Gabriel ... a ray of sunshine in all our lives! This blog has been a place where I have been able to journal my journey through loss, hope and choosing to live a life rich in love.

A message in the trees

After a late night up last night working through my emotions over a misunderstanding and a thoughtful days pondering, a girl can feel a little drained ... but then today the Lord reminded me of this beautiful scene that He graciously allowed me to see last month. Little did I know that He would teach me even more than I took in on the day that I looked out and enjoyed this beautiful view.
This picture taken at Central Park in New York reminds me of the quiet, yet strong peace that God offers us each day. In the middle of one of the busiest cities of the world lies a green oasis offering rest, refreshing and quiet for those who need some "time out" and renewed perspective from the crazy pace of city life. As my mom, sis and I spent a day last month running around that exciting city we all experienced an interesting experience. We had spent the morning walking to so many interesting and exciting places, but by 12am we were ready for some lunch and a  well deserved rest for our feet. The natural choice was a bench somewhere in Central Park. We sat overlooking this scene. We only sat for about 30 mins ... but just taking in the restful surroundings of these amazing, established old trees that have seen millions of people over hundreds of years sitting or walking through the very same places we were, brought a quiet peace to our souls.
Today God has taken me back to that place .... not in New York City, but to the oasis of His peace and love to graciously remind me that I do not have to hold onto painful memories. I do not have to hold onto my jumbled up emotions. He is more than capable to carry my heart and emotions when I place them in His hands. The beauty of His love is that when we surrender our pain ... He restores beauty, peace and wholeness even amongst the crazy emotions that we negotiate everyday ... and He adds the most beautiful touches of colour to our lives with His love.
May you find rest and peace as you meet Him in the oasis of His love and peace available for you today.
All my Love xxx

Very sweet post Janine... hope you are feeling better... sorry to hear that your prev. post was misunderstood by someone close to you. Communication on the computer can be totally misinterpreted sometimes...
But He knows our heart and He will renew! Hope you have a blessed day...

Beautiful post, Janine! I loved reading your words and seeing the pictures of CP. I hope to see it for myself someday.

I've had past posts misunderstood as well. Getting one's thoughts and ideas to come across the wires exactly as we mean for them to is hard sometimes...

Don't worry my friend. People who love you know your heart.
