About Me

South Africa
My husband, Brett and I live in beautiful South Africa and have been blessed with the most precious family. We have 2 very beautiful and brave daughters, Tianna and Angelee and a very precious little boy called Zac who touched our hearts forever in his 1 day here on earth. We never would have imagined that we would have to live this side of Heaven without our sweet boy who was born with half a heart, but every day Jesus carries us through and is teaching us more than ever how to live, laugh and love fully. A year and a half later, our faithful Great Restorer graciously blessed us once again with another son ... our beloved Gabriel ... a ray of sunshine in all our lives! This blog has been a place where I have been able to journal my journey through loss, hope and choosing to live a life rich in love.

The big "3-3"!!!

It's finally here ... I am officially 33 years old / young today!!! A sweet friend of mine said to me that from here on in we can't even pretend to reverse our number otherwise we will make ourselves older!! hee hee. Seriously though ... it has been such an exceptional day. Once again I am thanking God for this amazing gift of life that He has given me. To have known and loved Him from the age of 5 - that to me is one of my BIGGEST blessings; then to have been raised in a family who has loved and taught me so much; to now being married to the most precious man in my whole wide world who has given me our 2 precious daughters; to having so many new and old friends who bless my life; and to be doing what I have always known my heart was called to - pastoring / ministering to a new church plant of precious new believers ... I am rich with the Fathers blessings!!! My life is FULL of the amazing love of God and He continues to surprise me (because I LOVE surprises) with new waves of revelation about His relentless and all consuming love for me! There is no greater joy.

Today my home is FULL of beautiful flowers ... my phone is full of precious messages which are gifts to my heart and my tummy is way too full from eating way too many delightful treats :) Can it actually get sweeter?! From my bedroom I can hear the delightful screeches of delight as my girls are playing with my new pressie from my hubby - the Wi fit games ... it's all good!!! My heart is overflowing!

"Thank you precious Lord for the gift of life and another year to get to know and love you better. Show me how to love even more with Your life-changing love. Continue to teach me what "love in action" looks like. I am so excited for this next year of adventures up ahead."

Sweet Birthday Girl

9 years ago my life changed forever. I became a mommy on the 8th of February 2001. I was just about to turn 24 and my hubby and I were so excited to discover what raising our very own child would be like :-) Our precious firstborn is now 9 years old and so full of the life, love and beauty of God. Our relationship is so precious to me. While my hubby and I might be teaching and raising her, everyday she teaches me lessons I would never had learned had it not been for the gift of her life in my life. I cannot imagine what my life would be like without her. I am amazed to look back and see how many transitions she has already grown through. Some were harder than others ... yet she continues to be our great delight. My big girl is growing up!!! I cannot express how thankful I am to God for this amazing gift of motherhood.
Happy Birthday sweet Tianna Paige. We love you so much!!!

Read this post with a cup of tea ...

Yes I'm serious ... go make yourself something yummy and soothing to drink before you read any further. I'm getting mine ... meet you back here in five.
I'm back with a steaming cup of Earl Grey tea (it's the "English rose" in me I think ... my daddy was born and raised in the UK - maybe that explains my NEED for a god cuppa tea!).
There's just something comforting about sipping on your favorite warm drink, don't you think? Over the last 2 days the Lord has made me aware of how much rushing around we do as women - whether you are a wife, aunty, working woman, mother ... or like me - all of the above ... we spend so much time multi-tasking instead of basking in a restful moment every now and then. I felt prompted to encourage us today to find quiet moments - your very own sacred moments of rest, to just be still and know that He is God and that He is in the midst of all that you face and all that you are negotiating right now in your life. It doesn't have to be hours (though that would be bliss!!!) ... but even a few moments over a cup of tea or coffee to restfully ponder His wonderful love and grace available towards you and your sweet family today. He cares so much for us!! While He wired us to be able to contain so much on our families behalf ... He wants us to be daily filled up with His amazing measure of sweet love and grace for each new day. Even as you have "topped up" with your special cuppa today ... may you be "topped up" with His wonderful love.
Today we're going from "multi-tasking" to "basking" in His glorious love!
Much love,

I did it!!!

It took me most of today ... but I eventually worked out how to make my own header!!!!! Miracle of the day I tell you!! Even though I've been blogging for a while, I don't have any friends here in S.A. who have their own blog, so I don't have anyone to bounce ideas off. So it's me picking my non-blogging husbands brain. Ha ha ... fun times :) Anyway - just had to share my BIG accomplishment of the day with someone.
