About Me

Welcome to my little writing corner. I count my many blessings to be a cherished wife and an ever-learning-loving-growing mother to 3 amazing children this side of Heaven and a precious little boy in Heaven. Together as a family we pastor a precious church community called Redeeming Hope Church. I've had the privilege of loving and following Jesus Christ since my earliest memories as a child. No matter what I've gone through in life, He has always been so present. At heart, I'm an encourager ... so this is a place where I get to wear my heart on my sleeve and share my journey of learning to live a life of love in action.

Spring-cleaning from my Tianna's perspective

Last post I mentioned that I am on a bit of a spring-cleaning mission at the moment. Tianna (my big girl) looks at me dusting, vacuuming, polishing, washing stuff, moving stuff etc etc ... and says to me ... "Mommy, why are you Spring cleaning? It's Autumn!!!". Gotta love a child's perspective :) And so with that, I decided it was ok to take a tea break and hang with my girls.

Cleaning Home

Oh my goodness ... my dear hubby has his hands full with me at the moment!!! I am a woman on a mission. We have been in our home for 12 years now. Since December all I can feel is "CHANGE"!!! Every room I look at in our home either needs to be re-arranged, redecorated, repainted, removed ... you know the feeling? If I could, I would repaint each room tomorrow ... refurnish ... etc etc. Alas ... I will have to tackle one project at a time (this with me just having laid down one of my jobs!!). Hmm ... sounds like I am going to have to tap into some of that God-given creativity that He has tucked into me (that's one of the many perks of being made in HIS image right - Him being the creator and all - I must have a little creativity tucked away too! hee hee). So, project number one is to declutter!! Oh my word!!! That is a HUGE task in itself. One room at a time!!! I started by swopping out  my summer wardrobe for my winter one and tossing out all the clothes I never use. Wha

Prayers for Hailee

Hi sweet friends. Today I would like you to please keep sweet little Hailee in your prayers. Last Thursday I posted about my friend Adeye who has gone over to the Ukraine to fetch her sweet little treasure girls ... Hailee and Harper. It's been a week since their adoption and they are now traveling back home to Colorado. You can read Adeye's story about this adoption on her blog at  www.nogreaterjoymom.com . Hailee is the sweet little girl on the far right on the top button of my side bar. Would you believe that she is 5 years old! Yes - she still looks that tiny!! So hard for our minds to even comprehend!!! Friends ... she needs your prayers as she adjusts to her new life outside of a life which has been spent in a cot! She has literally spent her whole life in a cot in a room in the orphanage. This little treasure girl has a beautiful calling on her life. Right now she needs our prayers. Adeye has written a post with some of her prayer needs (physically and emotionally). Ple

Happy Mothers Day

Talking to many women I have come to realise how blessed I am to share such a special bond with my mother. I call her my "Mommy Darling". There is just so much that I admire about her. She is a mighty woman of faith; I have always seen her as fearless - willing to jump in wherever she senses God calling her; she has shown me what loyalty looks like; she loves selflessly; she gives so generously; she speaks the truth in love and most of all she has shown me the reality of a loving God by the way she worships Him in her everyday life. She is so talented and creative, writing some of the worship songs that many sing in church. She is my friend and my mother. She has shaped my life in so many ways and continues to do so with her constant love for me. Mom - this post is for you. I love you so much. As I now negotiating the beautiful calling of motherhood, I find myself drawing on the life lessons that I have learned from my experiences and adventures with my Mom. I am blessed wit

This is what love looks like ...

Today my dear friend Adeye walks into an orphanage in the Ukraine and becomes a representative of Jesus forever to two precious little girls. Hailee and Harper will finally get to see what "love in action" actually looks like when they are embraced and received into a "forever family". Adeye ... this post is for you sweet friend. You, Anthony and your sweet children have demonstrated "love in action" to me in ways that need no words. Today the Salem's finally receive their long awaited treasures into their family! Welcome home girls!!! How my heart rejoices to see with my very own eyes how Jesus gives hope in the darkest of places. He extends His arms through us to love the hurting.  If you want to read a blog that will forever change your heart as it has mine, follow Anthony & Adeye's journey with their beautiful 7 children. The link is http://www.nogreaterjoymom.com . Adeye's was the very first blog I ever read ... her journey with Jesus

Make-over Mondays ...

Today is the perfect day to start a new segment to my blog. I am going to call it "Make-over Monday" . It kind of just popped into my heart over the weekend.  Mondays often seem to start with such a crazy rush and a little too much busyness in our home after the weekend ;) As a school mom (and NOT a "natural" morning person) - having to drag myself up early, prepare healthy breakfasts and make sure they are eaten (and not fed to the already well-fed dogs!), check lunch boxes, re-do hair for the third time and then make sure school bags are all packed and ready ... well, you know the crazy drill, by the time I get a chance to breathe, I realize that I am already late for work! I just found myself to be in such a crazy rush through each day negotiating my time between 3 different jobs, full time mommy in the arvies, and wanting so much to be a great home maker but having too little time to get stuck into making my home all the things that I would love it to be for my
