Welcome to my little writing corner. I count my many blessings to be a cherished wife and an ever-learning-loving-growing mother to 3 amazing children this side of Heaven and a precious little boy in Heaven. Together as a family we pastor a precious church community called Redeeming Hope Church. I've had the privilege of loving and following Jesus Christ since my earliest memories as a child. No matter what I've gone through in life, He has always been so present. At heart, I'm an encourager ... so this is a place where I get to wear my heart on my sleeve and share my journey of learning to live a life of love in action.

I got tagged to write some arb stuff about my life this week, so here goes ...
8 things I look forward to ...
~o~ Cuddles from my man in the evening when the house is quiet :-)
~o~ Kisses in the mornings from my girls when they wake up and run through to my room - even if I am still fast asleep!!

~o~ I always look forward to a cup of something hot when I wake up in the mornings. Brett makes me a "surprise" each morning. I never know if it's going to be tea or coffee ...
~o~ I ALWAYS look forward to God's surprises, because whatever comes from Him is GOOD!!
~o~ A Starbucks latte!!! When is South Africa going to see the light!!!!!
~o~ Wearing my red Jimmy Choo's that I was blessed with 2 years ago. Whoever said that God doesn't want to bless His girls!!!
8 things I did yesterday ...
~o~ Had the most awesome study time around a passage in Ephesians! Wow - just love it when the "eyes of my heart" are opened to His truths. Freedom comes!
~o~ Looked after the "twinnies" with my mom-in-grace.
~o~ Had 2 of Tianna's cousins over for the evening.
~o~  Ate yummy Indian chicken Korma for supper.
~o~  Plopped on the couch with my feet up cuddling my hubby while we watched tv.
~o~ Ok - ate some left over Easter chocolates too ....
~o~ Remembered the fun weekend our little family had last week with friends in Haga Haga (some quaint little place near East London). It has the most beautiful wild beach and a cozy, warm lagoon.
~o~ Thought up some creative ways to teach my kids about the fruits of the Spirit.
8 things I wish I could do ...
~o~ Give my mom the opportunity to see her grand kiddies more often. I know how much she misses them.
~o~ Oh how I long for a photographic memory ....
~o~ Take my family to Disney World in Florida. Tianna has been praying about it for years.
~o~ Have a romantic get-away with my handsome hubby! We just celebrated our 12 year anniversary.
~o~ We are walking with the Lord to get to the place of being debt free!!! I am looking forward to that place of total freedom.
~o~ I am anticipating answered prayer for the families I pray for daily who are totally dependant on God for a miracle! I know you are working on their behalf Lord.

One of those "check your heart" moments

I had one of those moments today. You know those moments that give you an unexpected glimpse in the mirror and you see something that you don't quite like. I had been been standing in line to pay for my groceries. When it was eventually my turn, I greeted the cashier with a friendly smile and hello, genuinely wanting to acknowledge her and show her my appreciation. She in turn ignored me point blank and simply told me to swipe my reward card. Just like that my mood changed. She was so abrupt and uninterested in the friendliness that I had just shown her. In an instant my smile was gone and I stood there silently unpacking my groceries. She ignored me and I ignored her, all the while stewing in my head. I couldn't believe how "off" this woman was and how it had changed my attitude in an instant. Years ago I used to coach customer care training, so everything in me felt like imparting a lesson to this grumpy young woman. Thankfully, that quiet inner voice inside my hea...

Reasons to Celebrate

I am quickly typing this in between trying to pack up for Cape, and while packing I am having this to celebrate :0) What to celebrate you may ask ... well you would be amazed at how many amazing blessings you will discover of how good God has been to you when you start looking back and remembering what He has walked you through. Today I am celebrating many wonderful things! I am celebrating how no matter how dark certain moments have appeared to be, His light has ALWAYS broken through!!! Hope & Love have ALWAYS overcome the deepest of fears.  I am celebrating the precious family He has surrounded Brett and I with and the amazing friends and loved ones who have cheered us on and been praying us through. I celebrate how He has cocooned both my daughters hearts with the same peace He has cocooned Brett and my heart with and sheltered our precious family in constant hope of abundant life! I celebrate that as an extended family He has faithfully taught us all how to walk in vic...

The Day of Promise has Arrived

Precious friends ... The big day has finally arrived! Come 4pm today we will be taken into theater to meet our precious miracle son! Our hearts are filled with the Promises of our Beloved Jesus. This post is our hearts response of praise and adoration to Him because He has faithfully carried us through each day with "heart peace", strength, hope, faith and incredible love. It is the day of promise ... Zac's appointed day to shine forth His Glory. As a family we want to thank each and every person and family who has lavished their love, encouragement and prayers to stand with us in looking to Jesus, the Great Physician in knitting Zac's inward parts intricately and wholly in my womb.
