About Me

South Africa
My husband, Brett and I live in beautiful South Africa and have been blessed with the most precious family. We have 2 very beautiful and brave daughters, Tianna and Angelee and a very precious little boy called Zac who touched our hearts forever in his 1 day here on earth. We never would have imagined that we would have to live this side of Heaven without our sweet boy who was born with half a heart, but every day Jesus carries us through and is teaching us more than ever how to live, laugh and love fully. A year and a half later, our faithful Great Restorer graciously blessed us once again with another son ... our beloved Gabriel ... a ray of sunshine in all our lives! This blog has been a place where I have been able to journal my journey through loss, hope and choosing to live a life rich in love.

Love takes a stand

So often we think that love is merely an emotion. But love takes action, because love is a person. The Bible teaches that God IS love. Everything God has said or does is based on the foundation of love. All that God does is motivated by love.  Can I say the same thing about my actions each day? This is what I am meditating on this week.
Now I get what 1 Corinthians 13 is all about. We can have the grandest things, live the most exciting lives and achieve great status ... but if we don't have love, we have nothing. The Message Bible declares "So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I'm bankrupt without love." Love is what adds the meaning and gives impact & joy to the blessings that we acquire, the adventures we explore and the victories that we achieve in life.
If love is what motivates my parenting, I will raise courageous, confident daughters who will stand for truth and righteousness. That is something I so desire for my girls. I want them to serve Christ because they know how real and dependable His love is. I want for them to make right choices because they know that love always upholds truth and truth always leads to freedom! So then ... if I want for them to live in freedom, I need to be living in truth before them daily - taking a brave stand for what is Godly and righteous, because that is love in action! Love stands courageous in the face of fear and ALWAYS overcomes! Sometimes it takes a brave fight to stand against the temptations, fears and lies of the enemy, but love is always willing to take on that fight because TRUTH ALWAYS PREVAILS.
I thank God that His mercies are new every morning. There have been many fights that I have walked away from in my lifetime because of fear, but with the heart understanding that love is courageous and that it is His unfailing love that gives us the victory ... today I know that I can take a stand for truth to uphold His love and His cause so that my children can see what LOVE IN ACTION really looks like and enjoy the gift of freedom that Christ has paid such a high price for us to enjoy.  The beauty is that every time we take a stand for truth ... He is right there next to us loving us through the journey.
