Welcome to my little writing corner. I count my many blessings to be a cherished wife and an ever-learning-loving-growing mother to 3 amazing children this side of Heaven and a precious little boy in Heaven. Together as a family we pastor a precious church community called Redeeming Hope Church. I've had the privilege of loving and following Jesus Christ since my earliest memories as a child. No matter what I've gone through in life, He has always been so present. At heart, I'm an encourager ... so this is a place where I get to wear my heart on my sleeve and share my journey of learning to live a life of love in action.

One of "THOSE" moments ...

If you are new to my blog, I just want to let you know that if I am going to blog - it's going to be honest! It's going to be true and real to where I am at. So ... having been warned, I'm kinda just blogging away after negotiating one of "THOSE" moments with my eldest. It's holidays here and we have family staying with us which we are loving. But that also means that it is super late and  everyone is over-tired. Now taking into account that this is a female dominated house at the moment (it's my hubby and with our family guests including me and my kids ... there are 7 females in this house!!!) which means there are a WHOLE LOT of emotions that are bound to erupt! My daughter and I just did the erupting and now that she is fast asleep and the volcanic ashes have settled, my heart feels heavy. On top of that, my cat is attacking the front door with a vengeance to come inside which is annoying me beyond words (and if you are wondering why I have not let her in, it's because I have FINALLY put my feet up and got comfortable under the blankets!). Sigh!!!! Breathe in ... breathe out. Ok - back to the point (don't worry about the cat - my ever merciful husband just let her in - hee hee). Now what was I saying ... oh yes, the guilt! Does any other mom out there also have the tendency to get into bed and reflect on everything she could have handled better? I really battle this one, because if I let my mind go there I can get so down. There is always a friend who seems to be raising her children with more patience or wisdom or creativity etc, etc. I really want to enter that place of peace and rest where I can relax in who God has made me to be as a mother to my girls and not always be comparing myself to this ideal locked up in my mind of what the perfect mother looks like. It is such a taunting mindset. What does settle my heart is that after our little 'eruption' tonight - kisses and cuddles were given and all was settled. My child sleeps peacefully knowing that her mommy loves her and wants her best. Now "the mommy" needs to release her emotions to her Father God and accept His acceptance of her that He chose wisely when He made me "mother" to my sweet girls. I may not be perfect, but I sure am open to all His leading, shaping and guidance!!!  I guess this post is mainly for me tonight, but even in typing this I feel His Presence. He is always with me and for that I am so grateful.

I just can't tell you how true this is for me, too. I homeschool, so I get a double dose of this "opportunity." I'm with them all the time and every.single.day. one of us really messes up and has to ask one another to forgive and then also work on "releasing" those guilty feelings to the Lord.

thanks for your beautiful honesty...

Oh, how many times I have been there (and will be again, I'm sure). But, as you said, God put you as their mommy, and I believe it's not only so they can learn from you, but also, so that you can learn from and through them. I would not be learning patience and honesty and forgiveness (and the list goes on and on)on a daily basis, if it weren't for my kids! I know He would find another way to teach me, but for now, it's through my family...and even in the guilt ridden moments, I am thankful. Don't be so hard on yourself...your heart is huge, and it shows!

Reasons to Celebrate

I am quickly typing this in between trying to pack up for Cape, and while packing I am having this to celebrate :0) What to celebrate you may ask ... well you would be amazed at how many amazing blessings you will discover of how good God has been to you when you start looking back and remembering what He has walked you through. Today I am celebrating many wonderful things! I am celebrating how no matter how dark certain moments have appeared to be, His light has ALWAYS broken through!!! Hope & Love have ALWAYS overcome the deepest of fears.  I am celebrating the precious family He has surrounded Brett and I with and the amazing friends and loved ones who have cheered us on and been praying us through. I celebrate how He has cocooned both my daughters hearts with the same peace He has cocooned Brett and my heart with and sheltered our precious family in constant hope of abundant life! I celebrate that as an extended family He has faithfully taught us all how to walk in vic...

We are Seeing the Miracles Unfold!

Precious friends and family ... we are starting to see the miracles unfold! We just KNOW that we are living in the miracle :0) Yesterday we had a scan with the specialist who discovered and diagnosed all of Zac's heart defects in August. It's been about 6 weeks since the day we heard the horrible news. As you may remember, the defects she discovered that day in "that" heart were so complex ... not only one defect, but multiple! There was the issue of only 1 chamber; only seeing one major valve from the heart to the lungs where there must be 2 and then the complication of not being able to clearly see the arch of the aorta. What she saw of it, as well as  several other specialists, it looked too narrow and underdeveloped from what we could understand. When we came back from that first scan and spoke with our friend and paediatrician ... this was one of his biggest concerns. The aortic arch is so important in the functioning of the heart!  So before we went for the...

The Day of Promise has Arrived

Precious friends ... The big day has finally arrived! Come 4pm today we will be taken into theater to meet our precious miracle son! Our hearts are filled with the Promises of our Beloved Jesus. This post is our hearts response of praise and adoration to Him because He has faithfully carried us through each day with "heart peace", strength, hope, faith and incredible love. He has coached us in how to stand leaning into His Almighty power, wisdom and goodness and has taken all the fear out of this journey. Today our hearts are soooooo excited. It is the day of promise ... Zac's appointed day to shine forth His Glory. As a family we want to thank each and every person and family who has lavished their love, encouragement and prayers to stand with us in looking to Jesus, the Great Physician in knitting Zac's inward parts intricately and wholly in my womb. We will keep you posted as we rejoice in great expectation at witnessing God's amazing love in action! Our eyes...
