About Me

Welcome to my little writing corner. I count my many blessings to be a cherished wife and an ever-learning-loving-growing mother to 3 amazing children this side of Heaven and a precious little boy in Heaven. Together as a family we pastor a precious church community called Redeeming Hope Church. I've had the privilege of loving and following Jesus Christ since my earliest memories as a child. No matter what I've gone through in life, He has always been so present. At heart, I'm an encourager ... so this is a place where I get to wear my heart on my sleeve and share my journey of learning to live a life of love in action.

Urgent prayers for families in Colorado

Family of God, if you have not been following the news, especially us here in South Africa, please, please, PLEASE stand in prayer for the Lord to send an outpouring of rain to stop the fires raging in Colorado. I've read it's the worst they have ever seen. So many thousands of families have been evacuated from their homes. Our dear friends Anthony & Adeye Salem and their 7 precious children have just been told to evacuate too. There are countless families in need! My friend Adeye is always lifting others up in prayer. Please can we pray that the Lord spare their home and the lives of all the precious people in their community being affected. Send the rain Lord and encourage those brave fire fighters who have been fighting this fire for days.  Praying!!!!! Janine

Be part of Faith's miracle!!!

No Greater Joy Mom: because this life matters! Precious friends, this is SUCH AN URGENT message. The above post is from one of my dearest friends, who I have known for almost 15 years. Precious Adeye. She and Anthony have been given the privilege of being called to adopt the bravest little girl I know, a little girl called Faith. The link above is Faith's story. PLEASE, please, please read it. The photo's you see were taken of Faith last month. This little girl is 14 years old and weighs only 6kgs! Yes, you read that right, even though nobody could possibly ever put those two figures together in their heads and understand it! It just is that crazy and that is why I am asking you to read her story and open your hearts to be part of the mighty miracle to bring her home to finally be loved and nurtured by a family who so deeply love her already. She has waited long enough!!! I have watched Adeye journey into motherhood as she gave birth to her 3 precious son...

Urgent Prayer Need

Hi friends ... I was just over at my precious friend, Adeye's blog when I read this super urgent prayer need. PLEASE go on over there and spread the word and pray for this precious little boy! If you know of anyone who has their paperwork to adopt but are looking for the right child, please refer them to Adeye's website. The funds have been raised for this little boy. He just needs a forever family urgently! All my Love, Janine xxx

Prayers for Hailee

Hi sweet friends. Today I would like you to please keep sweet little Hailee in your prayers. Last Thursday I posted about my friend Adeye who has gone over to the Ukraine to fetch her sweet little treasure girls ... Hailee and Harper. It's been a week since their adoption and they are now traveling back home to Colorado. You can read Adeye's story about this adoption on her blog at  www.nogreaterjoymom.com . Hailee is the sweet little girl on the far right on the top button of my side bar. Would you believe that she is 5 years old! Yes - she still looks that tiny!! So hard for our minds to even comprehend!!! Friends ... she needs your prayers as she adjusts to her new life outside of a life which has been spent in a cot! She has literally spent her whole life in a cot in a room in the orphanage. This little treasure girl has a beautiful calling on her life. Right now she needs our prayers. Adeye has written a post with some of her prayer needs (physically and emotionally). Ple...

Grieving

Today my heart is grieving. As a mother, I cannot imagine the heart break of losing a child. No matter how old or young the child - the pain must be indescribable. From the moment that baby is placed in your womb, a connection is made for life. Today I got an sms from a family that I grew up with, very dear friends - friends that I call family to announce that their sweet little boy who was born 12 weeks prematurely went to be with Jesus. This precious miracle lived for just over a week and touched so many hearts in his lifetime. As I called my friends overseas, I had no words. What can one possibly say in the face of such loss? I realize that loving is not only about the words that we say. Love will point to the source of love. In situations like these, it can only take Jesus to heal a broken parents heart, or a grieving grandparent or aunt or uncle. Jesus is love personified. He gave us the Comforter - the Holy Spirit who is able to soothe our broken hearts and in time, repa...

Faithful Jesus

Sitting in bed, about to have an early night (rare occasion!) ... my heart is overflowing with love for my wonderful Jesus. This is just a simple note to say that He is ALWAYS faithful ... His love is ALWAYS consistent ... His mercy and grace are ALWAYS sufficient and His strength is ALWAYS enough! How wonderful is the Saviours love for each of us. "I love you my Jesus ... always and forever" xoxox

Simple Moments

The words of a song that I wrote sometime last year have been playing through my mind for the last few days. God is reminding me so much lately to enjoy life and find joy in the "simple moments" found in each day. "Simple Moments with You" Sitting in the sunshine, eyes closed, but heart opened wide I feel Your warmth wrapping itself all over me Sitting in the sunshine, eyes wide, looking all around I begin to smile as I see that it's so much simpler than I thought it could be Because everywhere I look and in everything I see I see You looking back at me In the beauty of this earth, in the colours that I see I see life, I see depth,  I see majesty Yes everywhere I look and in everything I see I feel Your heartbeat alive in me I don't have to search very far It's in these simple moments, simple moments with You Sitting in the sunshine, eyes closed, soaking up the sun I become aware of Your love pouring into me Sitting in the sunshine, eyes...
