Welcome to my little writing corner. I count my many blessings to be a cherished wife and an ever-learning-loving-growing mother to 3 amazing children this side of Heaven and a precious little boy in Heaven. Together as a family we pastor a precious church community called Redeeming Hope Church. I've had the privilege of loving and following Jesus Christ since my earliest memories as a child. No matter what I've gone through in life, He has always been so present. At heart, I'm an encourager ... so this is a place where I get to wear my heart on my sleeve and share my journey of learning to live a life of love in action.

Baking Fun with my Girls

I am so overjoyed to have the girls on school holidays, I could just do a happy dance right now!!! I love having them home around me (and being able to sleep in a little later!). It's been a big year with our sweet Angelee having completed her first grade in "big school" as well as our little bear really finding her feet in grade 5. Both my girls were premature at birth, so they have had to work extra hard in their schooling with extra OT and speech therapy lessons, so to read their reports yesterday has made this mommy's heart so proud of them. They don't have to earn top marks to impress me. It's their amazing attitude to be consistent in their hard work and positive attitudes that blesses me the most. Just seeing them find their feet and thrive in school is such a joy to my heart.  So we decided to kick off the first week of holidays with a lazy day at home. The girls were in their pj's till almost 12pm and then it was time for a little baking. We de...

"Holiday Idea Box"

My girls are on school holidays for 3 weeks! Hip, hip ... HOORAY!! I LOVE the morning sleep ins. If the girls get up early they know to make themselves some breakie and watch some telly till I get up. I have to savor this easy routine until baby boy makes his big arrival in October ;0) Yesterday we had tea and scones with a sweet friend. She is a mommy of two darling little girls and also has a little one on the way. I gleaned a lovely idea from her. At the start of the school holidays she got each of her girls to give her 5 ideas of what they wanted to do throughout the holidays. Each day they are going to do one of them. I loved her idea! So today, the girls and I wrote out some fun activities that we would like to do in the holidays. We wrote them out and have folded them into our "holiday idea box". Each day we will draw out one of the activities to do for the day! They are sooooo excited and so am I.  It was so funny coming up with ideas of what they wanted to do the...

Time to relax

As I write this I am tucked away on a beautiful farm in Rustenburg. We had such a beautiful Christmas season catching up with all sides of our family. This year all our family is within driving distance so we shared a delightful pre Christmas eve dinner party with my dad and new family, Christmas morning with my mom, granny and sisters family and Christmas lunch with my hubbies immediate and extended family. Now that I sit back and ponder it all ... what a privilege as so many of us are in completely different parts of the country and my mom has been living overseas. It was a rich and full time. The girls LOVED every minute of it. (Some time next week I will be able to post some pics. At the moment, I have very sparse Internet access to download my pics.) For the next few days we are enjoying "farm life" here in Rustenburg. There are sweet little chicks running all over the place and each family has been assigned to our own rondavels. I love how we all gather around the tabl...
