Welcome to my little writing corner. I count my many blessings to be a cherished wife and an ever-learning-loving-growing mother to 3 amazing children this side of Heaven and a precious little boy in Heaven. Together as a family we pastor a precious church community called Redeeming Hope Church. I've had the privilege of loving and following Jesus Christ since my earliest memories as a child. No matter what I've gone through in life, He has always been so present. At heart, I'm an encourager ... so this is a place where I get to wear my heart on my sleeve and share my journey of learning to live a life of love in action.

Makeover Monday with Mom

I just got to have my precious Mommy Darling spend a week with us in our home. Because she has been living in Virginia for the last 6 years, every visit is such a treasure! Once again, our time together was so full of beautiful memories. Times to chat and laugh and share hearts. How I love and appreciate the softness, love, generosity, joy and kindness that always shines through her. I am blessed to call her my mom and continue to learn so much from her generous heart and ways. Thanks for the precious memories this last week my Mommy Darling. You are always in my heart. xxx Before her stay, we have been hard at work giving the living areas a much needed makeover. As you will see in so many of my older pics, my lounge and dining room were done out in bright yellow and orange! Back in the day when we were first newly wed we thought this was so cool. 14 years later, we have been going crazy gazing into these bright walls! So hubby and I put our heads together to give ...

Make-over Mondays ... Finally! A room re-do :)

My sweet little princesses have finally had their room made over! Yippee!! This is the only pic I could find as a "before". The room was emptied out and the ceiling re-sprayed white before I had a chance to take a "before" pic. It's a cute one anyway of my little girls and their precious couzies having a sleep over. As you can see, we had a pine bunk-bed and yellow walls in there. We originally painted the walls yellow to add the illusion of warmth. Our beautiful old house has HIGH ceilings and wooden floors and is soooo cold. Well, after years of really wanting to do a girly room for them, I gave into the "pink" that every girl should at least have once in her life. Look at my dashing, helpful hubby tending to those high walls :) Sigh!!! Even in old baggy paint clothes (note I am NOT showing you me in mine! hee hee), he makes my heart beat faster :) Ok ... back to my post. I want you to take note of the GLAMOROUS light in there (not!!!!), coz it got a...

Spring-cleaning from my Tianna's perspective

Last post I mentioned that I am on a bit of a spring-cleaning mission at the moment. Tianna (my big girl) looks at me dusting, vacuuming, polishing, washing stuff, moving stuff etc etc ... and says to me ... "Mommy, why are you Spring cleaning? It's Autumn!!!". Gotta love a child's perspective :) And so with that, I decided it was ok to take a tea break and hang with my girls.

Make-over Mondays ...

Today is the perfect day to start a new segment to my blog. I am going to call it "Make-over Monday" . It kind of just popped into my heart over the weekend.  Mondays often seem to start with such a crazy rush and a little too much busyness in our home after the weekend ;) As a school mom (and NOT a "natural" morning person) - having to drag myself up early, prepare healthy breakfasts and make sure they are eaten (and not fed to the already well-fed dogs!), check lunch boxes, re-do hair for the third time and then make sure school bags are all packed and ready ... well, you know the crazy drill, by the time I get a chance to breathe, I realize that I am already late for work! I just found myself to be in such a crazy rush through each day negotiating my time between 3 different jobs, full time mommy in the arvies, and wanting so much to be a great home maker but having too little time to get stuck into making my home all the things that I would love it to be for my ...
